Organic Eggs Scotland

Founded in September 2006, Gosford Organics (GO) is situated in the historic Gosford Estate between Aberlady and Longniddry in the beautiful ‘Garden’ county of East Lothian, Scotland.

The company has 21,000 brown organic free range laying hens which are separated into seven lots of 3000 birds. Each lot is housed in modern mobile sheds that are fully automated with regards to temperature and air-flow and provide the birds with an excellent environment in which to live. Each shed is set in a minimum of three hectare grass paddocks and the birds have access to a further covered adjoining shed which acts as a scratch area and allows the birds to express their natural behaviour enabling them to dust bathe, preen and play. The birds have access to cover in the paddocks and also wooded areas which enhances their living environment.

Our birds are fed on a 90% organic ration which is supplied by a sister company Roslin Nutrition Ltd. The principal ingredients are organic wheat and organic full fat soya and the feed is produced on site within Gosford Estate and supplied to the birds within 24 hours of manufacture.

Gosford Organics has a contract with the largest egg producer in Scotland (Glenrath Farms) who supply TESCO and ASDA daily with their egg requirements.
